At the North Dakota Department of Transportation, we owe our success to our people and processes. As a Transportation Engineer III in Design Division, you will assist designers and consultants in coordination efforts with railroad companies on projects that involve a use of railroad property. You will provide compliance review for ADA/PROWAG plans. The ideal person for this position will be a problem solver with excellent communication skills and attention to detail with previous experience in using a Computer Aided Drafting and Design Program (CADD). You will also have knowledge of practices, principles, standards, and guidelines as related to engineering processes; preparing engineering reports and plans for roadway construction and providing technical support for consultants. Primary duties associated with this position are as follows: Railroad coordinator for Design Division at grade crossings.Review highway plans and identify railroad property impacts.Coordinate with railroad companies and assist with obtaining permits, agreements, licenses, or rights to enter needed with the Railroad companies. Write or review special provisions needed for a project. ADA/PROWAG Specialist. Update ADA Transition Plan and assist in compliance reviews on plans for the department.Maintain Standard Drawings to ensure compliance with ADA/PROWAG.Respond to questions from public on ADA/PROWAG compliance.Assist in projects assigned to section or division. Review or assist to prepare multiple preliminary engineering studies and environmental reports and incorporate into project design.Coordinate work with other divisions and districts. Assist in developing plans, reports, and design in accordance with department's policies and practices.Assist in any plans that need created for Utility Coordination efforts. Technical support for multiple consultant and district project developmentServe as the project administrator between consultants, the department, and other agencies.Provide expertise in transportation engineering and guidance on NDDOT policies and procedures.Review consultant contract scope of work and subsequent billings statements for accuracy.Technical review of consultant delivered products.Monitor project progress to ensure project delivery timeline and activities are completed on schedule and within budget.

Minimum Qualifications

As our new Transportation Engineer III, you will need a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or other applicable engineering degree, four years of professional-level engineering work experience, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, and a class D driver's license for travel to meetings and project locations.Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and reference check.

This position performs audits and compliance reviews of gaming activity related to licensed organizations, distributors, and manufacturers. Determine that the receipt, control, and expenditures of gaming funds are accurate and according to law and regulations. Conduct on-site observations of gaming conducted within an alcoholic beverage establishment. Participate in games conducted at gaming sites to determine compliance. Provide guidance to licensed organizations, distributors, and law enforcement officials. Represent the interest of the Attorney General's office in working with the general public, organizations, distributors, manufacturers, gaming employees and volunteers, and local law enforcement. Participate in formal hearings and court cases. Some overnight travel is required for the position, though the travel is minimal. This position is held at the State Capitol, in the Gaming Division and does not allow for teleworking. Assist in conducting financial and compliance audits, investigations, and training of gaming organizations and distributors, to include: assist with preliminary audit research and planning; conduct on-site observations of actual gaming activity such as bingo, pull tabs, and twenty-one; participate in games being conducted on site to determine compliance with laws and regulations; participate in and assist with conducting pre-audit and post-audit conferences; audit of games, game types, and use of gaming net proceeds; conduct compliance and substantive tests of transactions; complete internal control and compliance questionnaires; assist in evaluating systems of internal control; assist in making audit determinations and recommendations; assist in preparing preliminary audit reports. Conduct compliance reviews of gaming organizations and distributors. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or Business.
