BURLEIGH COUNTY HUMAN SERVICE ZONEBurleigh County Human Service Zone serves to ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and families in our community. Burleigh County Human Service Zone is seeking a CPS Case Manager (08-6533) for the Child & Family Services Department. As a CPS Case Manager, you will utilize the Safety Framework Practice Model to protect the health and welfare of children and families when child abuse or neglect is suspected or has occurred. Burleigh County Human Service Zone works to protect children and families by providing services and advocacy while promoting family stability, respecting diversity, and working to create and strengthen connections to community resources. We work to prevent abuse and neglect by providing education, resources, and supports to parents, families, and community organizations. Burleigh County Human Service Zone is seeking committed, passionate CPS Case Managers to serve our Child & Family Services clients. As a CPS Case Manager, you will serve across all phases of the family services program, including assignment of reports for the in-person assessment of reports of child abuse and neglect. You will be responsible for adhering to policy, best practice and planning, arranging emergency interventions, and providing general program administration. This position will gather necessary facts and complete written documentation as well as connecting families to critical and supportive services. This position maintains responsibility of a highly complex and sensitive nature and requires a high degree of knowledge, skills, and passion in child welfare. Work activities involve decision-making within parameters of approved policies and procedures, thorough, accurate and timely responses, as well as written documentation that complies with State and Federal Regulations. This position also required coordination with local service providers, law enforcement and legal entities, as well as emergency response planning. This role will require testifying at court proceedings. This position will require some afterhours and non-traditional working hours including on-call scheduling. Frequent travel throughout the Bismarck/Mandan area is required. To succeed in this position, you should have a passion for serving others and a desire to make a positive impact. You should be highly organized, maintain a strong attention to detail, be able to manage your time and priorities effectively, and have demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse populations. You will need to have a strong understanding of program policies and laws. You will also need to be comfortable working with all types of software and database applications, with a willingness to learn new technology programs.To be considered for this position, you must have a bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, behavioral health, nursing, or criminal justice. Plus, one of the following:Family Service Specialist III (SC7005):Two (2) years of professional work experience as a social worker, child protective services worker, or professional case manager. A master's degree may substitute for one (1) year of the work experience requirement. Family Service Specialist II (SC7004):One (1) year of professional work experience as a social worker, child protective services worker, or professional case manager. A master's degree may substitute for one (1) year of the work experience requirement. Family Service Specialist I (SC7004):No work experience required. Selected candidate must pass a standard background, motor vehicle, and criminal record check.Selected candidate must have a valid driver's license with clean driving record, a reliable vehicle for transportation, and adequate auto insurance coverage.
