Coordinate equipment management system activities with districts and divisions and ensure data is kept current.Analyze equipment data, identify high cost equipment, prepare reports for office, districts, and divisions, and make recommendations for action.Provide technical assistance, prepare special reports, and perform studiesResearch, analyze, and prepare special research reports.Research and make recommendations on equipment used in new maintenance or construction techniques.Make observations and offer recommendations to change operations based on equipment needs.Miscellaneous DutiesRepresent department in interaction with other agencies and organizations.Plan, develop, and implement special assignments.Assist in scheduling equipment and support in emergency events and serve as ICS Logistics Section Chief for DOT emergency response operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, andFour years of work experience leading to a level of knowledge, skill, and ability necessary to work independently in interacting with others, problem-solving, decision-making, developing and implementing policies, and meeting established goals through planning, organizing, and controlling work activities. Four years of progressively responsible work experience may substitute for two years of the education requirement. Requires a class D drivers license to travel to public meetings and project locations.Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and a verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment.

Essential Functions:Assist with the supervision of summer seasonal watercraft inspectors.Preform boat decontaminations of high risk and zebra mussel fouled watercraft.Survey watercraft users and perform boat inspections.Educate the public on strategies to prevent the spread of ANS.Conduct ANS surveillance surveys.Process summer water collection samples using microscopy.Equipment and gear maintenance.Individuals must be able to work weekends and holidays.Overnight travel required (vehicles provided). Expenses while away from main workstation will be reimbursed per policy (includes hotel and meals).

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries/Wildlife biology or management or closely related natural resource science degree. Applicants that are graduating in the spring of 2025 may also be considered. Applicant must be extremely self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision. Excellent organization and communication skills.
