Career Description
This position is with the Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund (DWSRF) Program of the Division of Municipal Facilities. The DWSRF Program provides loan funds to eligible public water systems for construction and upgrading of drinking water source, treatment, storage and distribution systems. The DWSRF Program also works with drinking water systems in North Dakota to ensure compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act.Responsibilities of the Position Include:Implementation of DWSRF projects.Design review/approval of non-DWSRF water and wastewater projects.Presentation of topics at drinking water operator training sessions.Provide technical assistance on drinking water issues.Assistance in prioritizing DWSRF projects.Review of DWSRF loan applications, planning studies, environmental reports, project designs, bidding documents, construction change orders, and operation and maintenance manuals.Attendance at DWSRF preconstruction meetings.Site inspection of DWSRF construction projects.Tracking construction progress of DWSRF projects for regulatory and payment purposes.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. DEQ will not provide sponsorships.DEQ is attempting to fill this position at the Environmental Engineer II level but reserves the right to underfill the position as an Environmental Scientist I. To be considered for an Environmental Engineer II, you must have a bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited program in an engineering field and one year of related experience. A master's degree may substitute for 1 year of work experience. DEQ's starting salary range for an Environmental Engineer II is $5,632/month, depending on experience. To be considered for an Environmental Engineer I, you must have a bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited program in an engineering field. DEQ's starting salary range for an Environmental Engineer I is $4,763/month, depending on experience.
