BISMARCK, N.D. – Emergency grazing of Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) acres is open in most North Dakota counties. CRP participants in counties that are in a D3 or D4 drought status, or a D2 drought status of 8 weeks or greater, may request to perform emergency grazing during the primary nesting season.

Anyone who finds the dog or has information regarding it should immediately notify the Board of Animal Health at 1-800-242-7535 or email doa-bah@nd.gov. If the dog is surrendered to a veterinary clinic or shelter, staff should isolate the dog and employ appropriate protective measures.

Special federal income tax rules are available to producers who find it necessary to sell more livestock than they normally would because of drought.

Each year, harmful invasive weeds, plant pests and diseases cost the U.S. $40 billion in crop losses, damage to forests and expensive eradication and control efforts, according to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
