BISMARCK – The Pride of Dakota Harvest Showcase returns to Jamestown this weekend. The Jamestown Civic Center will be filled with booths and shoppers this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1-2.

BISMARCK – The North Dakota Department of Agriculture (NDDA) is encouraging groups to participate in the Mountain Plains Crunch Off in celebration of Farm to School Month in October. North Dakota is competing with seven other states to see which state can get the most “crunches” into a piece of local produce, per capita.

BISMARCK – The North Dakota Department of Agriculture (NDDA) and the Dakota Zoo are teaming up to educate the public about pollinators with Pollinator Day at the Dakota Zoo, Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021. Admission is free from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the first 1,000 people in the door will receive free train tickets to view the zoo’s new pollinator beds.

BISMARCK – A second case of anthrax has been reported in beef cattle in Kidder County this year. The case was confirmed by the North Dakota State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory today. The first case, also in cattle in Kidder County, was reported in August.

BISMARCK – Last month, the North Dakota Department of Agriculture was notified of four confirmed cases and one suspect case of West Nile virus in horses, and one infected sheep. Animals resided in Ramsey, McIntosh, Stark, Grand Forks, Barnes and Nelson counties. All animals showed neurologic signs, none were vaccinated and two of the animals have died.

BISMARCK – Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced the availability of a program that will reimburse eligible producers for a portion of feed transportation expenses. The emergency feed transportation assistance program will help producers who have transportation costs associated with moving livestock or feed.
