BISMARCK – The public is invited to a “Fresh from North Dakota” breakfast or lunch for purchase at the Capitol Café inside the North Dakota State Capitol on Thursday, Aug. 29 from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
“The Capitol Café has crafted a special menu featuring locally grown and produced food,” Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said. “It’s an opportunity for Capitol visitors and state employees alike to taste local fare, learn about North Dakota producers and companies, watch our “Fresh from North Dakota” webisode series and pick up a set of free recipes. If you’re unable to come to the Capitol that day, I encourage you to go out and try local in your communities.”
A full menu may be found here.
Parking is available on the east and south sides of the Capitol building. Visitors must pass through security at the south entrance to enter the Capitol.
Those unable to attend may find “Fresh from North Dakota” webisodes online and request recipe cards at www.ndda.nd.gov/freshfromnd.
The special menu is part of a monthlong celebration of farmers markets and local foods across the state.
