BISMARCK – Agriculture is vital to ensuring that food continues to reach all Americans. While coronavirus is testing our resiliency as a food and agriculture community, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue has continued to focus on service to the American people during this health crisis. Just as the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is continuing operations, the North Dakota Department of Agriculture is continuing its inspections and all other operations to ensure that there is no disruption in the food supply chain.

“We thank Secretary Perdue for advocating on behalf of North Dakota agriculture,” Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said. “As a regulatory agency, we are responsible for consumer protection. We are continuing our operations to ensure that meat, milk and egg inspections and other consumer protection activities continue in order to ensure a safe and healthy food supply for North Dakotans.”
