BISMARCK – Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring applauded Bismarck State College (BSC) as they embark on a new project to expand career pathways. BSC was recently awarded a $1.6 million grant by the U.S. Department of Labor to expand educational opportunities in manufacturing and healthcare.
“I applaud BSC’s efforts in developing a talent pipeline that will connect students with employers’ needs in our communities,” Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said. “Not only will the program prepare students for the workforce in these in-demand occupations, but with the other programs that the polytechnic institution provides, they will develop a workforce that will improve supply chain issues and ensure a secure business climate in North Dakota.”
BSC was one of 13 colleges to receive a grant and the only institution in the Upper Midwest.
