BISMARCK – The Pride of Dakota Harvest Showcase returns to Jamestown this weekend. The Jamestown Civic Center will be filled with booths and shoppers this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1-2.
“This is the time and place to stock up on your favorite Pride of Dakota products,” Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said. “The owners and employees of more than 45 Pride of Dakota businesses will be on hand to showcase a tremendous variety of North Dakota-made foods and condiments, artwork, household items, jewelry, apparel and much more.”
The showcase is open from 4 - 9 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission and shopping bags are free and sponsored by the Bank of North Dakota College SAVE Plan. Parking is also free for Pride of Dakota shoppers.
Retail stores are invited to attend as well. “This is a great opportunity to purchase a few items to try in your store before establishing a wholesale order. Plus, retailers can support a fellow North Dakota small business in the process. It’s a chance to begin a working relationship that could be beneficial for many companies and local retail stores,” said Goehring.
An additional Pride of Dakota Harvest Showcase is scheduled for Oct. 29-30, in the Alerus Center, Grand Forks. Pride of Dakota Holiday Showcases are scheduled for Nov. 13-14, in the State Fair Center, Minot; Nov. 19-21 in the Scheels Arena, Fargo; and Dec. 3-5, in the Bismarck Event Center.
Administered by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, the Pride of Dakota program provides member companies with cooperative marketing and promotional events, such as in-store demonstrations, Pride of Dakota Day and the Harvest and Holiday Showcases. The program also provides educational opportunities and representation at regional, national and international marketing expositions. More than 500 North Dakota companies are Pride of Dakota members.
