At the North Dakota Retirement and Investment Office (RIO), we are driven by our values of integrity, accountability, and service in fulfillment of our investment and fiduciary responsibilities.We are seeking a motivated and analytical Investment Intern for our Investment Division. This role provides a chance to participate in high-level investment operations, including portfolio analysis, investment manager evaluation, and financial modeling, contributing to the stewardship of significant public funds and diverse investment portfolios.As the Investment Intern, you will play a valuable role on our team. This internship will allow you to gain relevant experience in investment operations that will prove invaluable as you prepare for the next step in your career. This internship will be approximately 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling. The role will be based on-site at our Bismarck, ND office location and is scheduled to be from May to August 2025.Join us at RIO and contribute to the financial security and success of North Dakota's citizens, educators, and public employees through this enriching and rewarding internship opportunity.Summary of Key Duties:The Investment Intern will be involved in the following areas:Assisting with quantitative and qualitative analysis of investment portfolios.Aiding in the due diligence and evaluation process of potential and current investment managers.Developing and testing financial models.Analyzing market data to assist in investment decisions.Collaborating on special projects and reports related to investment strategies.Additional duties as required.To be considered for this position, you must be: A current full-time enrollment in an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical program within the United States.In pursuit of a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, mathematics, computer science, or a related field, at sophomore level or above.Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency with financial analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent quantitative, analytical, and communication skills.Keen attention to detail for data evaluation and financial modeling.Organizational skills to manage project deadlines and coordinate tasks effectively.About RIO:North Dakota's Retirement and Investment Office (RIO) was established in 1989 to coordinate the activities of the State Investment Board (SIB) and the Teacher's Fund for Retirement (TFFR).
