BISMARCK – The North Dakota Department of Agriculture is continuing its celebration of National Soy Foods Month with a cooking demonstration lead by students from the United Tribes Technical College’s sustainable ag and food systems program on Tuesday, April 15 at 3 p.m. at the UTTC campus at 3315 University Drive, Bismarck.

“April is National Soy Foods Month, and students will add their own unique culinary flare to a soy foods recipe utilizing edamame,” Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said. “Attendees will learn about soybeans and other North Dakota specialty crops, and their importance in agriculture in North Dakota.”

Edamame are immature soybeans, harvested when they are still green.

Prior to the cooking demonstration, the public is also invited to tour UTTC’s new greenhouse at 2 p.m. to learn about sustainable farming practices and innovative crop cultivation. The greenhouse tour will also be streamed online.

A signup for both the greenhouse tour and cooking demonstration is available at https://forms.gle/r7X86cmfJKfdJWaA6.
